Seven years ago, The Tank opened its doors with little experience, less capital and no idea what would come. Over seven years, this experiment in collaborative, creative community-building has been proven a success. We now present over 400 events a year, serving over 1,000 artists and 15,000 attendees. We run international festivals, have been given a Proclamation by the City Council and serve as an incubator for some of the most surprising artists working in New York. And at the same time, we continue to be a home for new work and emerging artists, with ridiculously low prices and a can-do spirit.

We’ve survived bulldozers, blackouts, financial crashes, audits, sewage ruptures. As dozens of independent, alternative spaces have been forced to closed, we’ve managed to survive — and we continue to thrive.

That’s because of all of you. Our community fuels us with energy, funding and faith. Come out to celebrate your success and to contribute to our ongoing work.

2pm-9pm – “Seven Wonders of The Tank” – Step right up for a festival of performances, presentations & delights-that-defy-definition. Only $20 for 7 hours of the type of entertainment you won’t find anywhere else under one roof! Featuring:

* Homunculus Mask Theater’s inventive, poignant, and always impressive contemporary take on masked theater!
* Chris and Paul, NYC’s most unique sketch comedy duo!
* Epic Win Burlesque- Magician Nelson Lugo and nerdcore rapper Schaffer the Dark Lord present dancers from their upcoming Ghostbusters show!
* City Hall present their hilarious children’s show for adults (and those who never became them)!
* Start Trekkin’, NYC’s premier long-form comedy troupe based on the classic series of Star Trek!
* Asami Tamura toy pianist extraordinaire!
* MacGuffin, our favorite and uproarious comedic improv team who make us laugh till we cry!

7pm-9pm – “Why Tank?” – A Reception & Conversation for Tank Sustainers. Discuss The Tank’s role in the city’s cultural life with allies from the worlds of arts, foundations and government, featuring the writer and director of Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson (and a Tank founder!) Alex Timbers. $70 for our 7th Anniversary. Complimentary drinks and light food will be provided.

9pm – Midnight – Tank Birthday Party – The Tank came into this world with live music, laughter and lots of beer…why should this year be any different? Put on your dancing shoes and your fancy hat and raise a glass to 7 more years of keeping NYC arts alive and well!

BECOME A SPONSOR: For The Tank’s 7th Anniversary, we are seeking 7 community sponsors at $700 each — businesses, organizations or other partners that want to contribute to the cultural life of Hell’s Kitchen and New York City. We will also be seeking one Honorary Chair for the Festival for the contribution of $7,000. Please contact Justin Krebs,, if you are interested.
